THE ORPHANS

It was Christmas Eve!
Everyone was jolly,
Decorations had transformed dull houses,
But most of all children cheering at the fact that they would be opening
their presents the next day.

Only the orphans;
Max, Lily and Amber.
Stayed out on the street,
Tucked away tightly underneath the thick blankets of snow.
Shuffling their pink tiny fingers for circulation.
The bitter wind whooshed Northwards giving all of them all an uppercut
that soon turned their faces as red as plum tomatoes.

"When will this stop?"
Asked Max; youngest of the three.
"Max is right! I can't feel my legs!"
Cried Amber; the middle child.
Lily looked into the frosty sky and searched for stars,
which there were many.
The stars twinkled like little pieces of ice glistening
in the light of the moon.

"One day,
We'll have a great family.
Wish on the stars,
Its sure to come true
One day."  Lily croaked.
They looked up to the sky together.
There were so many stars in the night sky
They wished upon them all.

Thank you for reading, bye!
